Apprentice salary reduction: a real setback

Less money for apprentices! The government has reduced the exemption of social charges for apprentices from 79% to 50%, and removed the CSG/CRDS exemption.

Consequences

  • Net salary reduced by €150 per month

  • Less money for living expenses (rent, groceries, transport, energy)

  • Demotivation of young people and risk of contract termination

Apprenticeship is supposed to be a springboard for the future, but this measure cuts the resources needed to progress.

Reflection

Apprentices are the future workers, engineers, artisans, and entrepreneurs. Reducing their means hinders training and engagement.

Let’s share and support apprentices to demand recognition commensurate with their commitment!
