What is phone spoofing?

Cybercriminals impersonate a legitimate number to make fraudulent calls. This affects both the recipients and the owner of the number.

  • Report the impersonation to the police with evidence

  • Contact your operator to report the spoofing

  • Request a number change as a last resort

Solutions like STIR/SHAKEN, already in use in the US, will eventually block these calls at the source.
